Gao Offers Uhf RFID Interrogator Pc Card
Toronto, Canada–GAO RFID Inc. (http://www.GAORFID.com) has announced the release of a long range interrogator in a PCMCIA card format. This RFID Reader/Writer card, GAO Model #8170001, is a long-range (up to 100 meters) interrogator in a PCMCIA card format that minimizes human intervention while achieving extremely reliable performance of real time data collection in identification, tracking, tracing, and localization of assets or people.
This card uses UHF radio frequency technology with an advanced anti-collision algorithm, allowing it to accurately transmit and receive information to and from literally thousands of RFID tags. It can be conveniently plugged into a laptop, handheld or mobile computer, and ships with development software for application development under Windows CE/9x/NT/ 2000/XP and Linux. The software also enables it to process data and update firmware from the PCMCIA- or serial interface.

GAO’s active PC Card (GAO 817001) presents the following features:
l Its adjustable output power provides a long read/write range up to 100 m (300 ft) or up to 6 m (20 ft), depending on the tags.
l It is able to read at high speeds of 100-tags/second with high reliability
l 2,000 tags can be identified simultaneously.
l The drivers for different operating system are flexible and hardware independent.
l Its PCMCIA interface facilitates easy operation with existing handheld or mobile computers.
l The serial interface allows for serial communications with other devices.
